Asana Intensive: Introduction to Side Crow
with Corey Raucheisen and Mark Smith
December 27 — 4:00 - 6:00pm
In this two-hour workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of practicing Parsva Bakasana (Side Crow Pose) — a dynamic arm balance that combines strength, rotation, and mobility. This foundational shape supports progression into more advanced asanas such as Eka Pada Koundinyasana I and II. Experience with Bakasana (Crow Pose) is recommended but not required.
Students will receive:
- A clear overview of Side Crow, including body mechanics, balance points, and safety considerations.
- An introduction to two key myofascial meridians that power the pose: the Spiral Line (rotation + lift) and the Functional Line (cross-body stability + engagement).
- A guided warm-up flow designed to open and activate the arms, upper back, chest, shoulders, core, and legs.
- Ample time for individual instruction, hands-on guidance, and step-by-step progression toward the full pose.
This workshop is ideal for students who want to deepen their understanding of arm balances, rotational stability, and whole-body integration.
