Mel Rolfes
RYT 200
Since being introduced to eastern philosophy in her undergraduate studies, Mel has spent the last fifteen years learning about and exploring contemplative traditions and practices. She fell in love with yoga along the way and developed a longing to one day teach. In Spring 2023, she completed the Uttara 200-hour teacher training program, which was life-changing on a personal, professional, and spiritual level. She plans to further her teacher training and eventually acquire the appropriate certifications to weave yoga into her work as a mental health counselor.
Mel designs her classes to be soothing and body positive, with an emphasis on breathing and mindfulness. Her goal is for you to step off your mat feeling more at peace and balanced than when you arrived.
Outside of the studio, Mel enjoys kayaking, cruising paved bike trails, reading, planting, and hosting gatherings. Her heart is most full when she is with her partner Noah, his two sons, and their beloved shih tzus Chloe and Stormi.
Uttara feels like home to her, and she is honored and grateful to be a part of the studio’s community. She looks forward to being a conduit for the healing powers of this practice, and hopes to see you on your mat!
